1. In accordance with the letter from the Department of Indigenous Education, Ministry of Education, dated August 2, 2023, Ref. No. 1120101377.

2. The content of the aforementioned letter is as follows:

(1) The Indigenous Peoples' name rectification movement, after 10 years of struggle, finally saw the name "mountain aboriginals" (Shānbāo) rectified to "Indigenous Peoples" (Yuánzhùmínzú) on August 1, 1994. Subsequently, in 1997, "Indigenous Peoples" (Yuánzhùmínzú), which embodies the concept of collective rights, was enshrined in the Constitution. To commemorate this historical event, the Executive Yuan approved August 1st as "Indigenous Peoples' Day" on July 27, 2016, along with its origin and significance.

(2) To facilitate the promotion of Indigenous Peoples' Day by all levels of government in Taiwan and for the general public's understanding, the Council of Indigenous Peoples approved a one-page simplified version of the aforementioned document on July 14, 2021, to promote its dissemination and outreach.

(3) On August 8, 2022, the Council of Indigenous Peoples completed the production of the documentary "Name Rectification into the Constitution: A Crucial Moment." Through oral accounts from participants of the Indigenous movement and a compilation of precious historical footage, the documentary reviews the process of "name rectification into the Constitution" for Indigenous Peoples. Given that the path to name rectification for Indigenous Peoples was hard-won, symbolizing Taiwan's emphasis on multiculturalism and commitment to ethnic equality, we kindly request your assistance in widely promoting it.
