Description:
I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's National and Preschool Education Administration (hereinafter referred to as the NEPEA) letter No. 1135502719 dated July 1, 113.
II. To assist newly appointed Hokkien language teachers in curriculum preparation and to enhance their teaching knowledge and skills in Hokkien language courses, thereby deepening their capabilities in local language curriculum and instruction, the NEPEA has requested National Taichung University of Education to organize the aforementioned project.
III. This project prioritizes teachers who are newly appointed to teach Hokkien language courses in elementary schools for the academic year 113. We kindly request your school to recommend teachers to participate. The summary of the workshop content is as follows:
(I) Eligibility for Participation:
1. Qualified teachers (including substitute teachers with a contract of 3 months or more) who do not possess a specialized Hokkien language teacher certificate but have passed the Hokkien language proficiency test at the intermediate-high level (B2) or above.
2. Priority will be given to teachers who have not previously taught Hokkien language courses but are scheduled to teach them in the academic year 113. For further details, please refer to the project description.
(II) Course Description:
1. This workshop is a 3-day program, consisting of 2 days of online courses and 1 day of in-person classes (including teaching demonstrations and practice).
2. Online Courses: Wednesday, September 11, 113, to Thursday, September 12, 113. The course content will primarily cover an introduction to the curriculum and teaching resources, lesson plan design and practice, and diverse testing and assessment methods.
3. In-person Course: Saturday, September 21, 113. The course content will focus on Hokkien language teaching techniques, teaching demonstrations, and practice teaching. The workshop will be held at the Cheng-Hsin Building, Chung Shan Medical University, Taichung City.
4. Considering the need for participants to conduct group teaching demonstrations during the in-person session, the number of participants will be capped at 80. This number may be adjusted based on venue conditions.
(III) Registration Method:
1. School Recommendation: Schools are requested to complete the attached recommendation form (Attachment 2), have it officially stamped, and then email a color scanned copy along with the ODT file to ax7951@gov.taipei by Wednesday, July 31, 113. The email subject should be formatted as "113 Hokkien Enhancement Workshop - Central Region - [School Name] Recommendation List." The hard copy should be exchanged via the contact box to the Elementary Education Section of our bureau.
2. Self-Registration: From Monday, August 19, 113, to Sunday, August 25, 113, depending on the review results of recommended teachers, if there are available spots, teachers can register themselves on the "National Teacher In-service Training Network." No separate announcement will be made. Registration will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis with qualification checks until all spots are filled.
