Description:
I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter Tai Jiao Zong (II) Zi No. 1140027516A dated March 20, 2025,
and this Bureau's letter Bei Jiao Guo Zi No. 1133120142 dated December 19, 2024 (attached
for reference), the following is carried out.
II. To respond to "World Oceans Day" on June 8th and promote marine education, the Ministry of Education has been organizing
creative selection activities such as marine poetry and marine popular science picture books since 2015. This year
(2025), the "Third Marine Popular Science
Picture Book Creation" selection activity will continue to be organized by the Taiwan Marine Education Center, as follows:
(I) Encourage schools to integrate marine popular science education into their teaching and design courses related to "Sustainable Oceans",
with teachers guiding students through the teaching process to create picture books.
(II) Selection Activities: 1. Elementary and Junior High School Groups: After passing the preliminary review by this Bureau, submissions will be made by this Bureau. Please submit entries according to the city's selection activity guidelines by June 20, 2025 (Friday) to the Taipei City Outdoor Education and Marine Education Center
(No. 22, Section 3, Ren'ai Road, Da'an District, Taipei City 106346).
2. Senior High School Group: Schools should select and submit their best entries, with a maximum of 2 entries per school. Submit the entries to the Taiwan Marine Education Center by October 31, 2025 (Friday).
3. Teacher Group: Teachers can register and participate individually. We encourage all teachers to actively participate in this
selection activity. Each teacher is limited to submitting one entry. Submit the entries to the Taiwan Marine Education Center by October 31, 2025 (Friday).
III. Additionally, the Taiwan Marine Education Center website has a dedicated section for "2025 Marine Education Week"
(Website: https://tmec.ntou.edu.tw/), which includes marine education-related teaching resources (award-winning works from the first and second selections, sustainable ocean lesson plans, recommended reading lists, etc.) for teachers and students to reference.
