1. To enhance the English speaking abilities of elementary and junior high school students nationwide, the National Center for Educational Development (NCED) has established the "CoolEnglish Online English Learning Platform"—a "Speaking" section—offering conversation Q&A, basic pronunciation practice, and phrase practice exercises. This helps students speak English in a fun and easy way, building a solid foundation in English conversation.
2. The competition topics for elementary school students are from the "Common 300 Sentences" and "Immersive Experience" units in the aforementioned section; junior high school students' topics are from the "Easy American Conversation" and "Immersive Experience" units. To encourage elementary and junior high school students nationwide to continuously use the speaking materials on the online English learning platform to strengthen their English speaking skills, the "Cool English Speaking King" competition is being held.
3. Participants are elementary school students in grades 3-6 (Elementary School Division) and junior high school students in grades 7-9 (Junior High School Division) from public and private schools nationwide. Each division is further divided into a General Area Schools group and a Remote Area Schools group (Remote Area Schools group includes schools classified as remote, particularly remote, and extremely remote based on the Ministry of Education's announcement of the "List of Remote Area National Elementary and Junior High Schools" for the 113th academic year).
4. The registration/answering period is from September 15th (Monday), 2025 to October 31st (Friday), 2025. The competition adopts a "register first, then answer" system. Participants must complete the registration form; only after completing the registration process can they access the answering section.
5. To encourage students to participate actively in this competition and improve their English speaking skills, the number of NT$200 gift cards and small gifts has been increased. The adjusted reward amounts are as follows:
(1) Certificate of Merit: Participants who meet the award criteria will receive a certificate of merit.
(2) Prizes:
a. Prize drawings are divided into Elementary School General Area Schools group, Elementary School Remote Area Schools group, Junior High School General Area Schools group, and Junior High School Remote Area Schools group.
b. 50 winners from each group who receive a certificate of merit will receive a NT$600 convenience store gift card, and an additional 200 winners will receive a NT$200 convenience store gift card.
c. Those who do not win a gift card will be drawn by lottery based on the ratio of registered participants in each group, with a total of 6,000 winners receiving a small gift (an increase of 1,500 small gifts compared to previous years).
6. Starting from the 114th academic year, a teacher incentive mechanism has been added to the various Cool English competitions organized by National Taiwan Normal University on behalf of the NCED. Teachers who lead groups of students with registration numbers meeting the standards set in the competition regulations will be awarded.
