I. With the development of digital technology and online platforms, Media and Information Literacy (MIL) has become an essential skill for citizens to understand information, interpret media, and participate in public discourse. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has also long promoted related education and policy development.
II. Our association has specially invited the internationally renowned media literacy scholar Professor Sherri Hope Culver to be the keynote speaker. Professor Culver is a Fulbright Global Scholar and holds the UNESCO Chair in Media and Information Literacy. She is currently the Director of the Center for Media and Information Literacy at Temple University.
III. This lecture will introduce the core concepts and global development trends of media and information literacy, and share teaching cases and strategies that can be integrated into the classroom, providing a reference for teachers to cultivate students' media understanding and critical thinking skills in different subject teachings.
IV. The lecture is scheduled for March 21, 2026 (Saturday) from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, to be held at Hall F, 6th Floor, Taipei Cultural and Creative Park Building (6F, No. 88 Yanchang Road, Xinyi District, Taipei City). The event will be conducted in English with live Chinese interpretation provided.
V. This event is open to teachers and professionals in children and youth education. Participants who complete the entire session will be awarded teacher professional development hours. For event information and registration, please refer to the link.
